I’m John D Roberts, principal of BIG IDEA. For more than 20 years, I’ve played roles in the long-term strategic success of organizations, helping them and their leaders learn. I create the conditions for leaders, managers, and teams to make sense of complex, fast changing times and to become more capable, responsible, resilient, and reflective. I offer coaching, programs, and tailored solutions for challenging organizational passages.
I began my career writing case studies and designing learning programs with with former leaders of The Forum Corporation as a consultant at Performance Systems, Inc. There I designed, developed, and facilitated management, sales, and customer service programs and meetings for clients including Fidelity Investments, Scholastic Inc., MCI Communications, C.R. Bard, and PepsiCo.
As a longtime independent consultant, I continued that work as a project partner to training and organizational development consultancies such as Sales Development Associates (Chicago), Triformance Group (New York) and Impact Performance Group (Boston) until I was temporarily wooed to staff roles by The Boston Consulting Group and later MIT and Vistaprint.
Since completing a Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching from the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology I have focused on developing leaders, managers, and teams through BIG IDEA coaching & consulting and in a growing number of collaborations with associates.
